Ukrainian forces repel 58 attacks in Pokrovsk sector, 215 combat clashes across frontline

Since the beginning of the day on August 29, 215 combat clashes took place on the frontline, with Russian troops attacking most actively in the Pokrovsk direction

Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported the information. 

Over the past day, 215 combat clashes were registered.

According to updated information, Russia launched four missile attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas yesterday, using a total of four missiles. Additionally, there were 59 air strikes, including 86 guided aerial bombs (KABs). Furthermore, Russia carried out over 4,000 attacks, with 115 of these being from multiple launch rocket systems.

Russian air strikes targeted 1 settlement in Chernihiv region; 7 settlements in Sumy region; 2 settlements in Kharkiv region; 1 settlement in Luhansk region; 7 settlements in Donetsk region; 4 settlements in Kherson region.

Over the last day, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery conducted 19 strikes on Russian troops' concentrations, also destroying two artillery pieces, radar and three other important targets.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of eight combat clashes. The fighting took place, in particular, near Lyptsi and Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of combat clashes amounted to 25 over the day. Ukrainian defense forces fought off Russian attacks near Synkivka, Miasozharivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka and Lozova.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 23 Russian attacks near Tverdokhlibove, Cherneshchyna, Druzheliubivka, Nevske, Torske and in the Serebryanka forestry.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces beat back 9 attacks near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped 12 Russian troops' attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in near Klishchiivka, Andriivka and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

Russian troops tried to break into Ukrainian defenses in the Toretsk direction 21 times near Toretsk, Zalizne, Nelipivka and Sukha Balka. 

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 58 attacks near Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Karlivka, Marynivka and Mykhailivka. Russian forces tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. 

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back Russian forces near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka. Russian forces tried to break through Ukrainian defensive positions 38 times. 

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops made 17 attempts to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses in the direction of Vuhledar, Kostiantynivka and Vodiane.

In the Orikhiv direction, there were 3 combat clashes near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian troops engaged Russian troops once in the Kherson direction.

No signs of Russian offensive groups forming along the Belarusian border were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian forces maintain a military presence, conduct sabotage and reconnaissance activities, and shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying Russian forces, including in the deep rear.
