
Russia-Ukraine front sees 45 battles despite “Easter truce,” with nearly half in Pokrovsk sector
On Sunday, April 20, fighting continued along the Russian-Ukrainian front despite the "Easter truce" pledged by Putin. Russian troops were most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where 20 clashes were recorded, and in the Kursk region, where they opened fire 12 times on Ukrainian positions
Russian attacks on Ukraine
Throughout the day, Russian troops carried out artillery shelling from their territory, targeting the areas around Ukrainian settlements of Myropilske and Turya in the Sumy region.
Situation on main front lines
In the Lyman direction, two combat clashes took place near the settlements of Nadiya and Myrnyi.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched four attacks near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora. One clash is currently ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attempted two assaults near Druzhba and Toretsk.
The Pokrovsk sector saw the highest level of Russian activity, with Russian forces initiating 20 clashes of varying intensity near the settlements of Sukha Balka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and Rozliv. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops tried to advance twice near Skudne and toward Odradne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces attempted three assaults toward Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka and Stepove, but all attacks were successfully repelled.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian assaults, with a total of 12 clashes recorded so far. Russian forces also conducted 100 artillery shellings, including seven using multiple launch rocket systems.
Meanwhile, in the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Siversk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi sectors, no active offensive operations by Russian forces were reported.
