Russia tries to create conditions for offensive in two directions and maneuvers in  Nova Kakhovka–Armyansk area – General Staff

This was reported on March 6 by the AFU General Staff.

To mislead Ukraine’s Armed Forces the enemy maneuvers in the areas of Nova Kakhovka (Kherson region) – Armyansk (temporarily occupied Crimea).

"These actions cause dissatisfaction with the personnel of the Russian occupation troops. The main reason is the lack of fuel and effectiveness of such maneuvers," the General Staff reports.

In Volnovakha, Russians repair damaged equipment

In the city of Volnovakha, Donetsk region, Russian invading forces have set up a base for the repair of damaged equipment using the funds of a local professional technical school.

Students are forced to be involved in repair work.

Russia focuses on the offensive in 5 directions

Russia focuses its main efforts on the offensive in Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions.

AFU repel more than 95 Russian attacks and hit their military positions 

On March 5, Ukrainian soldiers repelled more than 95 enemy attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka and Nevske, Luhansk region; Zaliznianske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut and Ivanivske, Donetsk region.

Ukrainian aviation hit 12 Russian military personnel positions, and missile and artillery forces hit 3 command posts, 4 personnel positions and 1 air defense position. 

Russian troops launch 27 aircraft and 4 missile strikes in Ukraine 

Russian occupying forces continue to violate the rules of international humanitarian law, to carry out artillery shelling on civilians and civilian infrastructure, and to destroy the critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

Over the past day, the enemy launched 27 aircraft and 4 missile attacks, as well as 70 MLRS attacks. 

The threat of further Russian attacks remains throughout Ukraine.

Situation in the main defense directions

There are no significant changes on the northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia. Over the past day, Russian troops fired mortars and artillery at the Sumy region and 7 settlements in the Kharkiv region. 

In Kupiansk and Lyman directions, they fired artillery near 12 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian forces keep storming the town of Bakhmut. At the same time, 15 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

Russian attacks in Avdiivka and Vuhledar directions were unsuccessful. Instead, Russian troops fired artillery and mortars at 21 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces are in the defense, in some areas they try to create offensive conditions. They shelled more than 40 settlements in both regions. There are victims and damage to civilian infrastructure.
