Russia tries to compensate for frontline failures by shelling Avdiivka and Ukraine's positions

He said this on the air of Espresso TV channel.

"Fierce fighting continues to the south and north of the city. All enemy attempts to assault and conduct activities around Avdiivka fail. They are not successful, they only lose personnel and equipment. The situation is tense but under control. We have not lost any positions. It is hard for the guys, but we will push the enemy away from the town," emphasized Barabash. 

According to him, the enemy fired at the central part of Avdiivka in the morning from two tanks for almost 40 minutes.

"The enemy made 18 massive attacks over the last day. Thus, the enemy is trying to compensate for its failures on the frontline by shelling Avdiivka and Ukrainian positions. Over 200 attacks on Ukrainian positions took place over the last day," noted Barabash.
