Serhii Deineko, head of the State Border Guard Service, shared the information on the United News national telethon.
"Yesterday, 8 units of aircraft were moved from Russian airfields in Voronezh and Kursk - these are 6 Su-34 bombers and 2 Su-30 SM multipurpose fighters. The total number of Russian aircraft and helicopters on the territory of Belarus is now about 50, and they are concentrated mostly at 2 airfields: one in the Minsk region, the Machulishchy airfield, and one in the Brest region, the Baranovichi airfield," said Deineko.
He noted that Ukraine constantly monitors the situation in Belarus, especially the increase in the number of aviation.
In addition, Deineko reported that the so-called joint Russian-Belarusian exercises started today, but no activities within the framework of these exercises took place.
"Regarding the exercises, which were announced to last from January 16 to 31, we can say that today no activities within the framework of the exercises took place. Yes, some property was moved by 3 An planes, but it is not critical. These are just support planes," informed Deineko.
