Russia threatens to terminate grain deal

Russia demands fulfilment of its conditions for the continuation of the grain deal and threatens to terminate the agreement

This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, according to the Russian edition of TASS.

According to him, Russia is against the expansion or extension of the grain deal and is now "very closely monitoring the correction of the shortcomings of the agreements." He noted that if there are no guarantees for Russia, in particular regarding ammonia exports, the initiative "ceases to exist."

"Because an initiative that benefits only one of the parties can hardly be recognized and confirmed by all. We are, of course, primarily defending Russia's national interests," Vershinin added.
