The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported this.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that as of 5:00 p.m., the number of injured had risen to 41. Among them are six children: four girls aged 28 days, 1, 10, and 17 years, and two boys aged 2 months and 17 years.

As of 3:22 p.m., 37 people have been reported injured.

According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the attackers hit a densely populated neighborhood in Kharkiv with two guided bombs, each weighing about 250 kilograms. People were outside at the time.

“Twenty residential buildings were damaged — 17 apartment buildings and three private homes in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts. The blast shattered 612 windows, but these numbers are preliminary since a full inspection of each apartment is still underway,” he said.

The Russian strike also left a crater on a roadside shelter. Seven cars were completely burned, and 18 others were damaged. A textile factory’s production workshop, the administrative building of a municipal company, and its warehouse also suffered damage.

“I want to point out that there’s an electrical substation nearby. Thankfully, the damage isn’t severe, and energy crews plan to have power fully restored to all customers by evening,” Terekhov added.

“The enemy shelled the central part of Kharkiv. The attackers struck the Shevchenkivskyi district with two KAB bombs. One of the hits landed right next to a residential building,” Syniehubov wrote.

At first, there was one reported injured person — a 27-year-old woman. Later, the number of injured increased to two.

At 12:01 p.m., Syniehubov updated that the number of injured had risen to 16.
“Among them is a 10-year-old girl who suffered an acute stress reaction,” the official noted.

At the same time, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported 22 injured.

At 12:47 p.m., Syniehubov said the number of injured had grown to 23.

By 1:09 p.m., according to Terekhov, the total number of injured had reached 33.

In addition to the girl, a minor boy was also injured.

“The 17-year-old boy sustained blast injuries, including head trauma,” Syniehubov wrote.

“Five injured have been taken to hospitals, including a 33-year-old woman who is in serious condition,” he added.

Later, the official clarified that among the injured is also an infant: a 28-day-old girl who suffered an acute stress reaction.

Medical teams are providing all necessary care to the victims.

Rescue operations are ongoing.

Zelenskyy responds

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, saying one of the bombs hit near a residential building and the other struck a civilian facility.

“Absolutely senseless strikes with no military objective. It’s clear that Russia’s only goal is to continue its aggression and killings,” Zelenskyy wrote.

He again stressed the urgent need for air defense systems.

“That’s why we need more support — stronger air defenses, increased weapons production. These are essential to saving lives. We count on continued cooperation with our partners and are grateful to all who are already stepping up,” the president said.
