Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, noted that on August 9, Russian troops, trying to attack with tactical aircraft and launching guided bombs at the Beryslav district, Kherson region, dropped three of them on Russia’s units.

She told this on Espreso TV.

"We are continuing our counter-battery fight. Advancement in our area of responsibility is complicated because the front line on the Dnipro River has undergone significant changes after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was blown up. The geography of the banks has become more complicated, which we are trying to use in favor of the Defense Forces. The operation is ongoing, with reconnaissance advances. The fight against Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups continues. Over the past day, we have driven two subversive reconnaissance groups' boats to the bottom," said the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces.

Natalia Humeniuk noted that the invaders have intensified the shelling, having deployed certain reserves and weapons, and now they are making more than 40 attacks per combat day. This suggests that they are trying to keep at least 70 attacks per day.

"So far, the occupiers are managing to cope with some issues on their own. Yesterday, on August 9, trying to attack with tactical aircraft and launching guided bombs at the Beryslav district of the right bank of Kherson region, they dropped three bombs on their own units. This is how the world's second-rate army operated," summarized Humeniuk.

  • On August 7, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine announced that its special forces had destroyed a Russian army missile unit during an operation on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region.

  • On August 9, the Ukraine's Ministry of Defense denied the information disseminated by analysts of the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly conducted a limited raid across the Dnipro River and landed on the left bank in Kherson region.
