Russia spreads fake that Ukrainian air defense is to blame for Odesa attack

Russian claims that the missile that hit Odesa was Ukrainian, is a fake created by the Kremlin propagandists to get rid of responsibility

This was reported by Ukraine’s Center for Strategic Communications.

Russians are using anonymous Telegram channels to blame Ukraine for the attack on Odesa. They are spreading messages online that it was not Russian missiles that caused the damage to Odesa, but allegedly Ukrainian air defense forces.

"They say that the missile came from the ground, not from the sea, so it was Ukrainian. They also add that "money was laundered for air defense" and the system did not work," the statement said.

The Center also adds that some Telegram channels helped Russian occupiers by immediately sharing photos from the site of the hit, although this is strictly prohibited to prevent the Russian forces from adjusting their strikes.

"The fact that the Russian forces attacked Odesa and Iskander-M missiles was confirmed by the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces. And the Russian enemy's fake news is nothing more than an attempt to absolve themselves of responsibility for the crime," the Centre for Strategic Communications said.
