Later, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration specified that a high-rise building in the regional center was destroyed as a result of an enemy missile attack. There are victims.
"Rescuers, medics, and all relevant services are working at the scene of the tragedy. All the necessary assistance is already being provided to the people," Oleksandr Starukh said. "The city of Zaporizhzhia has become an object of massive terror by the invading Russian forces."
Later, the secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Anatolii Kurtev, reported that the entrance to the multi-story building was destroyed, 5 private houses, and about 40 other houses were damaged.
Later, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, specified that the Russian forces used tactical aviation for a missile attack on the regional center. According to preliminary information, the aircraft fired 12 missiles at Zaporizhzhia.
Most of the rockets hit residential high-rises and private houses in one of the districts of Zaporizhzhia. A nine-story building was partially destroyed. Five private houses were destroyed. Affected infrastructure facilities. 20 cars were damaged.
So far, 12 people have died. 49 victims were hospitalized, including 6 children. The information is being clarified. There may be people under the rubble. A rescue operation is underway at the scene. 8 people have already been rescued.
Ukraine's State Emergency Service reports that 10 people have been rescued as of 1:00 p.m.
