Russia sends medical students to frontline areas due to lack of doctors – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on June 6.

"The enemy lacks medical personnel in all directions due to the large number of wounded. Therefore, the enemy has begun to engage students from Russian medical universities to work in frontline military medical institutions of various types," the General Staff explains.

The report also says that in Oleksiyivka, Kherson region, Russian invaders set up a field hospital on the territory of a local school. There are about 25 enemy doctors there to treat the occupiers with injuries of varying severity.

Missile troops and artillery destroyed 14 artillery units and 16 important enemy targets in one day

In addition, these troops struck 9 control points, 4 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 3 ammunition depots and an anti-aircraft missile system.

In turn, the aviation of the defence forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel over the day.

The Russian forces carried out 30 air strikes and fired 43 times from multiple rocket launchers over the day

In addition, Russia launched 35 missile attacks using X-101/X-555 air-launched cruise missiles. All missiles were destroyed by Ukraine’s air defence forces.

Russia continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy Luhansk and Donetsk regions. There were 28 combat engagements over the last day.

The operational situation in the regions bordering Belarus remained unchanged, with no signs of enemy offensive groups forming.

Situation in Ukrainian regions:

• In the northern direction, the Russian enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. During the day, the Russian forces carried out air strikes in the area of Ohirtseve, Kharkiv region. They fired mortar and artillery shells at the 5 settlements in Chernihiv region; 9 settlements in Sumy region, as well as 22 settlements in Kharkiv region.
• In the Kupiansk direction, 8 settlements in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar fire over the past day.
• In the Lyman direction, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives in 2 areas in Luhansk region and 1 area in Donetsk region. They carried out air strikes in 4 areas in the Donetsk region. Two settlements in the Luhansk region and 4 settlements in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
• In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops conducted an offensive in the direction of Klishchiyivka, but were unsuccessful. Russia launched an air strike in 2 areas of the Donetsk region. 13 areas in the Donetsk region were affected by enemy artillery shelling
• Russia did not conduct any offensive in the Avdiivka direction. It carried out air strikes in the area of Avdiivka. The Russian army fired artillery shells near 7 settlements in the Donetsk region.
• In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all 12 enemy attacks near the town of Marinka. At the same time, the Russian enemy launched air strikes on the town. Also, Russia shelled 5 settlements in the Donetsk region.
• In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian forces carried out air strikes in 4 areas. They also fired at 4 settlements in the Donetsk region.
• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces are on the defensive. However, they launched an air strike on Olhivske in Zaporizhzhia region. They also fired artillery at 2 settlements in Donetsk region; 10 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region; 1 settlement in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

On Tuesday, 6 June, Russian occupation forces blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, completely destroying it.
