Russia claims massive attack of almost 50 drones in four regions
On the night of March 9, the Russian authorities announced a massive drone attack, allegedly shooting down 47 UAVs over the territories of four Russian regions
This is stated in the report of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Last night, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to launch a terrorist attack using 47 aircraft-type UAVs against targets in the Russian Federation was foiled," the Russian ministry said.
According to them, the air defense intercepted and destroyed 41 drones over the Rostov region, three more over the Volgograd region, two over the Kursk region, and one over Belgorod region.
Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev said that the attack allegedly injured an Emergencies Ministry employee who was involved in the liquidation of the attack's aftermath. The victim was hospitalized and his life is not in danger.
According to the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, fragments of the drone shot down in Kursk fell on the roof of a polyclinic. Due to the threat of an explosion, patients in the intensive care unit of a neighboring hospital were evacuated.
Local Telegram channels also report that the Taganrog Beriev Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex could have been damaged by the UAV attack.
