Russia's new fake: Ukraine will ask for military loans in exchange for state land in Davos
Russia spreads fake that the Ukrainian delegation to the World Economic Forum in Davos will "beg" for new military loans from global businesses in exchange for state-owned land and assets
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
Analysts noted that the key goal of the Ukrainian delegation's participation in the Davos Forum is to implement the Ukrainian peace plan.
"In particular, a meeting of national security advisers and political advisers to the leaders of Ukraine and the United Kingdom on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace formula, as well as other important meetings, is scheduled for Davos," the statement said.
Instead, Russia claims that the Ukrainian delegation will "beg for new military loans from global businesses" for which "the Ukrainian government wants to give away state-owned lands and assets".
The Centre for Countering Disinformation also reminds that this is not the first attempt by Russia to manipulate the topic of "selling off Ukrainian land", which began in 2020.
The World Economic Forum in Davos will take place January 15–19, 2024.
- On January 9, media reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy might visit Switzerland and the Davos forum.
