Russia reports shelling of Druzhba oil pipeline in Bryansk region

Transneft spokesman Igor Dyomin told TASS that the station is used for peak loads on a one-time basis. The last time when the station was switched on - was for several hours last year.

"There were no injuries as a result of the shell hitting the station, and the damage is being fixed by the repair team. The Druzhba pipeline is operating normally," said Dyomin.

The emergency services clarified that the munition fell in a field in Novozybkovsky district of Bryansk region. "The explosion of the munition occurred on Tuesday in a field near the Mamay village, the oil pipeline was not hit," the source told RIA Novosti.

The Mash Telegram channel wrote that the oil pipeline was struck by Ukraine with a Tochka-U missile. 

A crater with a diameter of 20 meters was recorded at the site. The oil filling station itself was slightly damaged, and there is temporarily no electricity.

The route of the Druzhba oil pipeline runs from Almetyevsk to Bryansk, then to the Belarusian city of Mozyr, after which it splits into two sections: the northern section (through Belarus, Poland, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania) and the southern section (through Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia).
