Russia recruits mercenaries to new PMCs in Crimea, offers high salaries - AFU General Staff
On the occupied territory of Kherson region, Russian troops use sea containers to equip trenches and dugouts. Recruitment of mercenaries to the newly created Shchit (Shield) and Rusich PMCs has been announced in Crimea
The AFU General Staff shared the information in the morning report on January 12.
Near the settlement of Radensk, Kherson region, Russian troops built a network of trenches and dugouts using sea containers, which were previously equipped as a field hospital.
In turn, the recruitment of mercenaries to the newly created so-called private military companies Shchit and Rusich has been announced in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Former servicemen and other employees of law enforcement agencies are invited to work there, officers are the priority. In order to attract them, potential candidates are promised high salaries, as well as the fact that they allegedly will not be involved in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine shoot down an enemy helicopter and launch 27 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations
Over the past day, January 11, Ukrainian Defense Forces' aviation launched 20 strikes on Russia’s personnel concentrations and 3 strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems.
Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders shot down a Ka-52 helicopter and 2 Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAVs.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian missile and artillery men hit a Russian control point, 7 manpower concentrations, and 3 ammunition warehouses.
Ukrainian Defense Forces repel Russian attacks near 12 towns and villages
Over the past day, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near 2 settlements of the Luhansk region and 10 of the Donetsk region.
Russia launched 4 missile and 23 airstrikes on Ukraine, hitting civilian objects
Over the past day, Russian forces launched 4 missile strikes (on civilian objects in Lyman and Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region) and 23 airstrikes. They also launched 69 MLRS attacks in other locations.
The danger of air and missile strikes throughout Ukraine remains.
Russian troops continue to shell Ukrainian towns and villages with various types of weapons
On the border with Belarus, no enemy offensive groups were detected.
On the border with Russia, 2 settlements of the Sumy region and 7 of the Kharkiv region were subjected to Russian mortar and artillery attacks.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops shelled 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region and 1 more of the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, a settlement of the Kharkiv region and 7 more of the Luhansk region came under Russian fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian forces fired from tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery at 17 settlements of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, 8 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled by Russian troops.
In the Vuhledar direction, Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk region, came under fire.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 1 settlement in the Donetsk region, 9 settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region and 1 more of the Dnipropetrovsk region were affected by Russian shelling.
In the Kherson direction, 3 settlements and Kherson city came under Russia’s MLRS and cannon artillery fire.
