Putin seeks to humiliate West and showcase its collective failure - Estonian Defense Minister
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin aims not only to seize Ukraine, but also to show that the West "has collectively failed"
He said this in an interview with Telegraf.
According to him, it's crucial to recognize that if Putin were to attack other countries like Estonia, Latvia, Romania, or Bulgaria, he would be attacking NATO. Such an action would constitute a direct confrontation with the Alliance.
"His goal in Ukraine is not only to annex regions or capture the country. His goal is also to humiliate the West and show that it has collectively failed," said Hanno Pevkur.
At the same time, he emphasized that NATO will defend every inch or every meter of the Allies' territory.
"That is why we have to pay attention to this threat. We must be prepared for it. We must do everything in our power to prevent this from happening. As they say: "If you want peace, prepare for war," the minister added.
