Russia preparing new strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure in winter – British intelligence
Russia is likely to generate its stockpile of cruise missiles against Ukraine's infrastructure in the winter, as it did between October 2022 and March 2023
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.
The intelligence service recalled that Russia attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure between October 2022 and March 2023. For this purpose, it mainly used Kh-101 (AS-23 KODIAK) missiles.
"Open reports suggest that since April 2023, air launched cruise missiles (ALCM) expenditure rates have decreased, while Russian leaders have highlighted efforts to increase the rate of cruise missile production," the report says.
The British intelligence notes that because of this, Russia is likely to be able to create significant stockpiles of cruise missiles. According to British intelligence, there is a real threat that Russia will again use these weapons against Ukraine's infrastructure during the winter.
On Saturday, September 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a new meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff: the topic was the protection of port infrastructure from Russian attacks and the country's preparation for the winter period. Zelenskyy also said that Russia is already preparing to attack Ukraine's energy facilities in the winter.- News
