Russia prepares disinformation campaign on Leopard 2 tanks

Fake messages that the tanks delivered to Ukraine have already been destroyed, defective, or sold may appear in the information space in the coming days.

Military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko in his telegram channel reports that the information space will be filled with fake news in order to discredit Ukraine as a user of these tanks and the German equipment itself.

According to the journalist, the following fakes and manipulations may be used:

-Losses. They say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet received their first tanks and are already losing them at the front.

-Ukraine receives broken and incapacitated tanks after long periods of storage.

-Ukrainian crews are unable to master Leopard 2 professionally.

-The Ukrainian military has sold the Leopard 2 tank to the Russians and it is already being studied by Russian "experts."

"All these fakes and manipulations will appear in large numbers in the Russian gray segment, a number of propaganda media, as well as Western information outlets in the coming days," Kovalenko writes.

At the same time, the journalist notes that there are no Leopard 2 tanks in the combat zone. Currently, Ukraine is in the process of forming tank companies with Leopard 2s, and they will appear in the combat zone only after the battalions are formed.

Thus, any reports about the presence of Leopard 2 on the contact line are fake.
