Not necessarily against Ukraine: General Kryvonos suggests why Russia may create two new armies

Major General of the AFU Reserve, First Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces (2016-2019) Serhii Kryvonos believes that Russia is creating two new armies for possible armed provocations against NATO countries

He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel

"Russia is planning to create two new armies. This is a serious enough threat. However, these armies may not necessarily be aimed at the territory of Ukraine. Russia may concentrate these armies near the borders with the Baltic states. It is in this direction that they can start aggression against these countries. Or they can resort to armed provocations and powerful psychological pressure on NATO countries," explained Kryvonos.

The Major General also commented on the threat of a repeat Russian offensive in the North.

"Today, the probability that the Russian Federation could re-enter the territory of Sumy region is very low. However, the situation may change in some time. Because they retain the ability to move their troops to different directions very quickly. When the occupiers need to divert attention and disperse their forces between the East and the North, they may try to enter the territory of the Sumy region again," he added.
