Russia may use chemical weapons. Stoltenberg expects "more disaster" in Ukraine
The NATO Secretary General believes that Russia may well be planning the use of chemical weapons against Ukraine
Jens Stoltenberg told the German Welt about this, informs Espresso.West.
Russia has recently heard "absurd statements" about chemical and biological weapons laboratories in Ukraine, Stoltenberg said.
“Now that these erroneous claims have been made, we must remain vigilant, because it is quite possible that Russia itself could plan chemical weapons operations using these lies. This would be a war crime", the NATO head emphasized.
Stoltenberg urged Moscow to change course: "My message to President Putin is clear: stop this war, withdraw all forces and join diplomacy".
NATO Secretary General fears a further escalation: "The people of Ukraine courageously and resolutely oppose the invasion, but the coming days are likely to bring even greater difficulties".
