Russia may stage false flag operation on eve of Ukraine's Independence Day to drive Belarus into the war - General Staff
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff suggest it is possible that Russia, which continues to draw Belarus into a full-scale war against Ukraine, may use a false-flag operation involving international casualties to provoke Belarus to join the conflict
Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
According to him, along with the involvement of its own armed forces, Russia invites foreign military personnel to the training grounds in Belarus. In particular, in recent days they have been arriving in a neighboring country, apparently, to participate in the Army International Games - 2022.
"On August 3, the first ground teams from the Russian Federation, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Cameroon, Laos, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, and Mali arrived at Machulishchy airport in the Minsk region. On August 8, a team of personnel from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School arrived. To create a picture of the so-called "international military cooperation", Hromov said, adding that representatives of 37 countries are expected to participate in the Army International Games - 2022 scheduled in Belarus from August 13 to 21.
Given the date and place of this event, experts do not exclude the possibility of sabotage at this time with intentional victims among foreigners.
"There are suspicions that on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, Russia may stage a provocation at the Belarusian training ground. With the death of foreigners, further demonization of Ukraine, accusations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and to create another basis for the open involvement of the Belarusian people in Putin's bloody plans", Oleksii Hromov said.
