Russia lost 580 soldiers, 16 tanks and helicopter in a day, Ukraine’s General Staff reports

Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian attacks

The Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian troops engaged in 30 combat clashes at the frontline over the past day. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning report on August 10.

Situation in different regions of Ukraine 

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, the Russian forces fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 40 localities in Chernihiv, Sumy region and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the area north of Synkivka and northeast of Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region. More than 10 localities in the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian invaders conducted air strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirne and Vesele, Donetsk region. 2 localities in the Luhansk region and 4 in the Donetsk region came under hostile artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops are holding their ground, successfully repelling Russian attacks on the outskirts of Klishchiivka and northeast of Druzhba in Donetsk region.

The Russian troops launched an air strike in the vicinity of Klishchiivka. More than 15 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, under heavy fire from Russian aviation and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks near Avdiivka and southeast of Sieverne in Donetsk region.

The Russian occupiers launched an air strike near Avdiivka in Donetsk region, shelling 4 settlements with artillery fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Marinka, Donetsk region.

The Russian soldiers launched an air strike in the area of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region. 5 settlements of the region underwent artillery shelling.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost position in the area of Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

They carried out air strikes in the areas of Blahodatne and Staromayorsk in the Donetsk region. 6 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled by artillery.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area south of Novodanylivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

More than 20 localities in Zaporizhzhia region and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region suffered from artillery shelling .

In the Kherson direction, Russia launched an air strike in the Kozatske area of Kherson region. More than 25 settlements in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were subjected to artillery shelling, as well as the city of Kherson.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidate their positions, and carry out counter-battery operations.

Russia carried out 50 air strikes and fired 59 MLRS attacks on Ukraine over the day

The Russian forces launched 3 missile and 50 air strikes, fired 59 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

Ukraine’s defense forces destroy 3 control points, 6 artillery pieces at firing positions and another critical Russian object

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation conducted 10 strikes on areas where the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, one on an anti-aircraft missile system and another on a Russian logistics hub.
