Russia loses over 250,000 Russian soldiers in full-scale invasion – General Staff

On August 6, Russia suffered significant losses in Ukraine, including 540 soldiers, 18 cruise missiles, and 28 drones. There were 50 combat engagements at the front

This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 07.08.23 were approximately:

personnel – about 250,240 (+540) 

tanks ‒ 4244 (+7)

armored personnel vehicles ‒ 8270 (+8)

artillery systems – 4977 (+12)

MLRS – 709 (+4)

anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 467 (+1)

aircraft – 315 (+0)

helicopters – 311 (+0)

UAVs operational-tactical level - 4154 (+28)

cruise missiles ‒ 1377 (+18)

warships/boats ‒ 18 (+0) units,

vehicles and fuel tanks – 7451 (+10)

special equipment ‒ 735 (+1)

Two trucks brought the bodies of Russian military to the morgue of occupied Chaplynka

The enemy is facing significant losses, but they try to hide it. In Chaplynka, a temporarily captured settlement in the Kherson region, two trucks carrying bodies of Russian army servicemen arrived at the morgue from the Kherson direction. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this during the morning briefing on August 7.

The bodies were buried in two different places.

 

Ukrainian forces hit 2 Russian command posts, 2 artillery systems, and one EW station

Yesterday, the Defense Forces' air force launched 10 strikes on areas where enemy soldiers were gathered and 4 strikes on the invaders' anti-aircraft missile systems.

Additionally, missile troops and artillery units targeted 2 command posts, 2 areas where enemy soldiers were concentrated, 2 artillery positions, and one Russian radio electronic warfare station.

 

Russia launched 52 airstrikes and 75 MLRS attacks against Ukraine

On August 6, the enemy launched 30 missile strikes and 52 air strikes, as well as 75 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and civilian areas. These attacks resulted in the loss of civilian lives, injuries, and damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

The risk of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

 

The situation at the front: 50 skirmishes occurred during one day

Within a day, there were 50 combat clashes between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the Russian army.

Situation in different regions of Ukraine 

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 35 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops shelled over 10 settlements across the Kharkiv region. Two areas suffered from air strikes and Russian offensive actions. Ukrainian forces hold the defense, while Russians try to advance near Petropavlivka. 

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops shelled 7 settlements across the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Three areas were subjected to air strikes.  

In the Bakhmut direction, Russians shelled over 15 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian attacks in the area of Dyliivka. 

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops shelled 2 settlements with artillery. Ukrainian forces repelled all the attacks near Avdiivka.

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery. Ukrainian forces hold the defense near Marinka and Krasnohorivka. One area suffered from air strikes. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements and launched air strikes near 1 settlement.  

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops  tried to advance near Robotyne, but unsuccessfully. They shelled over 35 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Four areas were subjected to air strikes. 

  • On Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2023, the Defense Forces of Ukraine missiles damaged the Chongar Bridge and the bridge, which connects the city of Henichesk with the Arabat Spit. The Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed these strikes.
