Russia loses one submarine, one ship, and 620 soldiers in one day – General Staff

The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to September 14, 2023 were approximately:

The Armed Forces of Ukraine hold the initiative in the Marinka and Avdiivka directions, despite Russian assaults 

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in the morning briefing on September 14.

Ukrainian forces are defending the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine. They are carrying out offensives towards Melitopol and Bakhmut, gradually pushing back the enemy and reclaiming temporarily occupied territories, securing and holding the regained territories.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, in the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces continue to maintain a group of troops protecting the state border, to conduct active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the redeployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and to increase the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group on the Kupyansk and Bakhmut directions, the Russian forces continue their attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense near Berestove (Kharkiv region), Bilohorivka (Luhansk region), Bohdanivka (Donetsk region). In their turn, the Defense Forces had a partial success in the area of Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Kurdyumivka (Donetsk region), inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding the line near Marinka, where the Russian troops made over 14 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukraine's units out of their positions over the past day. In addition, all of Russia's attacks near Mala Tokmachka and Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, resulted in significant losses in both manpower and equipment for the occupiers. At the same time, in the Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Defense Forces continue to hold the initiative, put pressure on the enemy, carry out assault operations and recapture Ukrainian territory.

In the Melitopol direction, the Defense Forces continue their offensive, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue counter-battery combat, destroying logistics, deployment sites and firing positions of Russian units.

The Russian army carried out 2 missile and 92 air strikes against Ukraine

Last night, attackers used 22 kamikaze drones of the Shahed-136/131 type against Ukraine, but our air defense destroyed 17 of them.

In the past day, there were 29 battles along the front line.

The enemy launched 2 missiles and conducted 92 air strikes. They also fired 42 rocket salvos at both Ukrainian troops and civilian areas. Yesterday, they attacked Ukraine with 47 kamikaze drones of the Shahed-136/131 type, but Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 35 of them.

Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in casualties among civilians, and there has been damage to port facilities, private homes, and other civilian infrastructure.

Airstrikes hit various towns and regions, including Morokhovets, Pletenivka, Petropavlivka (Kharkiv region); Stepok (Sumy region); Novoselivske, Novoyehorivka, Bilohorivka (Luhansk region); Siversk, Spirne, Kurdyumivka, Klishchiivka, Krasnohorivka, and New York (Donetsk region); Robotyne, Zapasne (Zaporizhzhia region); and Odradokamyanka, Prydniprovske (Kherson region). Around 100 settlements in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were hit by artillery fire.

Ukrainian forces hit Russian command post and air defense system

In the past day, our aviation carried out 12 strikes on enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration areas, and 2 strikes on their anti-aircraft missile systems.

Our missile troops, artillery, and unmanned systems hit 1 command post, 1 anti-aircraft missile complex, 1 area where enemy personnel and equipment gathered, 15 artillery pieces, 2 ammunition warehouses, and an enemy EW station.

• During the night of September 13-14, Russian terrorists launched approximately 6 groups of Shahed drones for attacks on Ukraine.
