Russia loses aircraft, 24 artillery systems, 1,460 soldiers in one day in Ukraine – General Staff

On February 8, Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,460 Russian soldiers and military equipment, including a warplane and 11 tanks

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the first time in a long time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Russian Su-25 military aircraft.

Total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to  February 9, 2025 were approximately:

  • personnel – about 849,320 (+1,460) 
  • tanks – 9,992 (+11) 
  • armored personnel vehicles – 20,797 (+20) 
  • artillery systems – 22,844 (+24) 
    MLRS – 1,273 (+0) 
  • air defense systems – 1,056 (+0) 
  • aircraft – 370 (+1) 
  • helicopters – 331 (+0) 
  • UAVs of the operational-tactical level – 24,486 (+83)
  • cruise missiles – 3,054 (+0)
  • warships/boats – 28 (+0)
  • submarines – 1 (+0) 
  • vehicles and fuel tanks – 36,529 (+127) 
  • special equipment – 3,739 (+1) 

The data is being updated.

  • On the evening of February 6, the Russian army attacked the Myropillia community in the Sumy region with guided bombs, destroying an apartment building and causing casualties.
