Russia loses 32 artillery systems, 4 tanks and 620 soldiers in one day in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 5, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about 249,110 (+620 per day) 
• tanks - 4,232 (+4)
• armored fighting vehicles - 8,251 (+2)
• artillery systems - 4,943 (+32)
• MLRS - 704
• air defense systems - 466 
• aircraft - 315
• helicopters - 311
• vehicles and tank trucks - 7,422 (+30)
• ships/boats - 18
• UAV operational-tactical level - 4,116 (+12)
• special equipment - 730 (+6)
• cruise missiles - 1,347

Russian forces are using schools in the temporarily occupied territories for their own purposes. 36 combat clashes take place on the frontline over a day

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasizes that Russia uses civilian educational institutions in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine for its own purposes.

Thus, according to them, in the village of Mykhailivka, Zaporizhzhia region, Russians deployed about a hundred of their servicemen on the territory of a secondary school.

In addition, there were 36 military clashes between Ukrainian and Russian troops on the frontline over the past day.

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian forces carried out air strikes near 2 settlements. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 25 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops carried out an air strike near Shyikivka, and shelled over 10 more settlements across the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces carried out air strikes near 2 settlements and shelled over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions with artillery.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian army near Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka. Russian troops carried out air strikes near 4 settlements and shelled over 15 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, being under heavy fire from Russian aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks near Avdiivka. Russian troops shelled over 15 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hold back the Russian offensive near the towns of Marinka, Staromykhailivka and Krasnohorivka. Russian troops launched air strikes near Krasnohorivka and shelled over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops  tried to regain lost position in the Blahodatne area. They launched air strikes near Staromayorske, and shelled 8 settlements.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful offensive near Novopokrovka. They carried out air strikes near 3 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Russian forces’ priority is preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops. Over 15 settlements came under Russian artillery fire.

In the Kherson direction, Russian forces carried out air strikes near 2 settlements in the Kherson region and shelled over 25 settlements, including the city of Kherson.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions, inflicting artillery fire, and conducting counter-battery operations.

Russian troops launch a missile and 50 air strikes on Ukraine

Over the past day, Russian troops launched one missile, 50 air strikes, and 86 MLRS attacks. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized that the threat of further missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains very high.

Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 2 attack UAVs and strike 2 times at Russian personnel concentrations

Over the last day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out 9 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 2 attack UAVs of the Shahed-136 type.

Over the past day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units destroyed 9 artillery pieces in firing positions and 2 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

• On August 3, Russia lost 640 soldiers, 27 drones and 15 armored vehicles in Ukraine. Over 40 combat clashes took place on the frontline between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Russian troops.
