Russia loses 1,030 troops, 19 tanks and 31 armored vehicles per day - General Staff

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to December 11, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel – about 339,850 (+1,030) 
• tanks ‒ 5,655 (+19)
• armored fighting vehicles ‒ 10,560 (+31)
• artillery systems – 8,070 (+6)
• MLRS – 919 (+0)
• air defense systems ‒ 605 (+0)
• aircraft – 324 (+0)
• helicopters – 324 (+0)
• UAV operational-tactical level – 6,154 (+18)
• cruise missiles ‒ 1,586 (+1)
• warships/boats ‒ 22 (+0)
• submarines – 1 (+0)
• vehicles and tank trucks – 10,636 (+13)

Frontline situation: Over the last day, 98 clashes took place, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 43 attacks in five sectors

According to the General Staff, 98 combat clashes took place at the front during the past 24 hours.

In total, the invading Russian army launched 3 missile strikes, and 61 air strikes, firing 67 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Private houses and other infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Over the past day, the Russian forces conducted an air strike on Ukraine using 18 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all 18 enemy drones. 

The following localities were hit by air strikes: 5 settlements in Kharkiv region; Tverdokhlibove, Makiivka, Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region; 9 settlements in Donetsk region. More than 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Situation in the main frontline areas

Near the state Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 4 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka and Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops fended off 5 enemy attacks near Terny, Vesele in Donetsk region and Makiivka in Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in Donetsk region. Ukrainian defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled 49 enemy attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, south of Sievierne and Tonenke, Pervomaiske in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops repelled 18 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the area southeast of Vuhledar in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Melitopol direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian troops, depleting the enemy along the entire frontline.

In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, continue to conduct counter-battery combat and inflict fire on the enemy's rear.

Defense Forces strikes at enemy positions

Missile troops struck 3 areas with enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment and 1 ammunition depot.

• On the night of December 11, the invading Russian forces launched 18 Shahed attack UAVs into the territory of Ukraine. The Russian military also attacked the Kyiv region with ballistic missiles, all targets were destroyed.
