Russia launches Shahed drones: air defense activated in Kyiv, no casualties or damage

The threat of attack UAVs in Zaporizhzhia region was announced at 9:19 pm. The group was moving in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk region.

After that, it was reported that several groups of Shahed drones were recorded in northern Ukraine.

"Several groups of attack UAVs from the northeast, heading for Krasnopillia district of Sumy region," the message stated at 9:47 p.m.

At 10:08 p.m., it was reported that one of the groups was detected over the Okhtyrka district, heading for the Poltava region, and another in the Lebedyn district, moving westward.

Around 10:30 p.m., new UAVs were spotted in the Kherson region.

As of 11:33 p.m., several groups of Shahed drones were seen in different parts of Ukraine:

• In the Chernihiv region (Nizhyn district) and on the border of Sumy and Chernihiv regions - the western course.
• Several groups in the Yahotyn district of Kyiv region - western course.
• In Mykolaiv region - western/northwestern course.
• In Kirovohrad region - northwestern course (Kropyvnytskyi).

At 12:49 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force updated information on the movement of Russian UAVs:

• UAVs in the area of Pervomaisk, heading northwest;
• Several groups of UAVs through Kherson, heading north;
• UAV near Uman, Cherkasy region, heading west.

At 1:39 a.m., it was reported that Russian drones were moving in Vinnytsia region in the Bershad district and on the border of Vinnytsia/Kyiv/ Zhytomyr regions, heading west, and in the area of Chernihiv and Nizhyn - in a southwesterly direction.

As of 2:29 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reported that the drones in Chernihiv region were in the vicinity of Nizhyn and moving south. In Vinnytsia region, the likely direction of movement is to Starokostiantyniv. And in Boryspil district, they are heading south.

At around 3:50 p.m., the all-clear signal was declared in all regions.

The threat of Russian drones in Kyiv

Around midnight, the Shahed drones reached Kyiv. Air defense was activated.

"Air defense is working in the capital. Another group of UAVs is moving towards Kyiv," Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote.

Around midnight, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a missile threat in the Kyiv region.

Russian drones were also spotted in Brovary district, moving toward Kyiv.

"At the moment, the work of air defense is heard on the left bank of the capital in the Darnytskyi district. Stay in shelters!" Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote.

A little later, Klitschko reported explosions in the Podil district of the capital. He also said that the drones were moving towards the center of Kyiv.

At 12:53 a.m., Klitschko emphasized that the threat had not ended: "Two more groups of UAVs are moving towards the capital from Chernihiv region."

The all-clear signal in the capital and the region sounded at 3:47 a.m.

The Kyiv City Administration reported several waves of attacks:

"Tonight, after three days of ballistic threats, the enemy once again launched Shahed barrage munitions at the capital. UAVs attacked in groups, waves and from different directions. All enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces and means. No one was injured in the city as a result of air defense and falling debris."
