Russia launches missile attack on Kharkiv

On the morning of December 28, Russian forces hit one of Kharkiv’s districts with missiles.

This was reported by Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv regional military administration.

"The occupants hit the Sloboda district of Kharkiv with missiles. Employees of the State Emergency Service went to the place of impact. At the moment, there is no data on the victims. The information is being updated," he wrote on Telegram at 09;22 am.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Presidential Office also clarified that Russian troops hit the city with missiles.

The mayor of Kharkiv urged residents to stay in shelters. 

"I ask everyone to stay in shelters and take precautions."

The explosions occurred around 09:00 am. After that, the air raid alert was triggered in the city and the region.
