Russia launches drone attacks on Ukraine, injuring civilians in Kharkiv, Kyiv regions

On the night of February 17, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with strike drones. A non-residential building caught fire in Zaporizhzhia, houses were damaged in the Poltava region, a service station was destroyed in Sumy, and there are casualties in Kharkiv and Kyiv regions

Destruction in Poltava region

Last night, Russian troops attacked Ukraine's Poltava region with drones. Air defense was active in the area.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, and no hits on critical infrastructure were recorded.

However, in the Zinkiv community, drone debris damaged the roof of a private house and a nearby utility building.

Attack on Sumy region

As reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration in the morning, Sumy also came under a Russian drone attack at night.

A strike UAV hit a service station, damaging the building and vehicles parked there.

Casualty in Kyiv region

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that at night, civilian settlements in the region came under attack from Russian drones. Air defense forces were working in the region. There were no hits to critical infrastructure.

However, as a result of the attack in the Boryspil district, one person was injured. A man born in 2003 sustained a hand injury and received medical assistance on-site.

In Obukhiv district, three private houses and two vehicles were damaged. In the Vyshhorod district, a production workshop caught fire due to the attack, but the fire has already been extinguished.

In the Fastiv district, a warehouse caught fire, and a private house was damaged near Boryspil.

Attack on Kharkiv

Around 01:20 a.m., Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported explosions in the city. A Russian Shahed drone attacked the Saltivskyi district.

In addition, in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv, a Russian UAV hit a private property, damaging a residential house. Immediately after the strike, three people sought medical help due to acute stress reactions.

Meanwhile, in the Saltivskyi district, preliminary reports suggest the strike hit near an administrative building. Windows were shattered in the administrative building and nearby houses.

Fire in Zaporizhzhia 

At 03:36 a.m., according to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, a fire broke out in a non-residential building due to a Russian attack.

"The Russians attacked the city with 10 drones. As a result, the shockwave damaged warehouse premises and caused fires. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties," he added.

Explosions in Kyiv

At 12:34 a.m., explosion sounds were heard in Kyiv. The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported on air defense working in the capital. Ten minutes later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote about the air defense forces working in Obolon and the left bank of the city.

Additionally, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported air defense activity in the region at 12:47 a.m.

As of 12:42 a.m., strike drones were recorded in Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Kyiv regions, and the capital. At 1:19 a.m., UAVs approached the Mykolaiv region from the northern direction.

At 1:49 a.m., residents of Khmelnytskyi region were warned about the threat of UAVs.
