Russia launches 53 airstrikes, 20 MLRS attacks against Ukraine per day – General Staff

On May 29, invading Russian forces have launched 53 airstrikes and 20 MLRS attacks against Ukraine, injuring civilians and damaging private infrastructure

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

In addition, according to updated information, during a nighttime missile strike by the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 36 of 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 30 of 38 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.

In the afternoon, the Russian enemy used cruise and ballistic missiles from the Iskander tactical missile system against civilian and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, and the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 11 of the 11 missiles.

The General Staff reports that in the temporarily occupied Svatove, Luhansk region, farmers who cannot provide some documents of ownership due to the owner's departure are simply being taken away from their combines, trucks and other expensive equipment.

In turn, missile and artillery units hit 3 military positions, a munitions depot, 3 air defense facilities, as well as 3 other important enemy targets.

AFU repelled 20 Russian attacks in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions over the day

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: 6 settlements in the Sumy region, as well as 19 more in the Kharkiv region were attacked.

On the night of May 29, Russia launched up to 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and about 35 Shahed drones against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces managed to shoot down 37 rockets and almost 30 UAVs.
