Russia is trying to get ballistic missiles from Iran. Ukraine's air defense is still powerless against them
Russia continues to look for ways to obtain Iranian ballistic missiles, which Ukraine currently cannot counter.
On January 30, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat stated this live on national TV marathon.
"The main threat that hangs in the air and can still be implemented is, of course, Iranian missiles. Russia has not abandoned its intentions to receive 'kamikaze' drones from Iran, as well as previously announced Fateh and Zolfaghar missiles," speaker said.
At the same time, Ihnat pointed out that these missiles are ballistic, and today Ukraine has no equipment against those missiles. That is why it is important that international partners and allies provide Patriot PAC-3 and SAMP-T, which can shoot down ballistic missiles.
"We are seeing a shift: Italy and France have also declared their readiness to transfer these systems to Ukraine, which is now being actively discussed after "Ramstein". Therefore, the threat is there, it has not disappeared, and we must respond to it," spokesman added.
