Russia is likely preparing major attack on February 24 in several areas
Russia is massing troops in the Donetsk direction, which may indicate that it is preparing a massive offensive on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion on February 24
The head of the Avdiivka Military Civilian administration Vitalii Barabash said this on Espreso TV.
“According to intelligence, the Russians are deploying additional forces in the Donetsk direction (Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, and Marinka). A couple of weeks ago, about 160 battalions were concentrated - now it is 190. Even with incomplete equipment, this is a lot of people. We understand that they are most likely preparing for something. On February 24, they are likely to attack,” he emphasized.
Barabash added that now the Russians are not throwing large forces at the assaults, but are trying to advance in small groups.
“Having a large number of people in reserve, they will try to get in. There is information that they are trying to bring ammunition to the outskirts of Makiivka and Donetsk in small cars (not trucks). This indicates a plan for a large-scale offensive. My personal opinion is that there will be rocket attacks on regional centers on February 24. And on the frontline they will attack in all or most directions. For this purpose, they have pulled up the reserve,” the head of the Avdiivka Military Civilian Administration concluded.
