Russia-Iran tandem causes concern in Middle East, this is to Ukraine's benefit - international expert Shelest

Hanna Shelest, Director of Security Programs of the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council, said this on Espreso TV.

“We can enlist the support of certain Middle Eastern countries or Israel. Such an escalation on the part of Iran can cause serious concern for these countries, which until then tried to maintain a more neutral position regarding the 'conflict' between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. As of now, such a tandem of the Russian Federation and Iran causes concern among many countries in the Middle East, and it is in a certain way to the benefit of Ukraine,” she said.

Shelest added that from a military point of view, this indicates that Russia has a limit that is shrinking.

“The dowside is that the chance of receiving ballistic missiles increases. The situation will unfold here, and everything will depend on us how we can turn it to our advantage not only on the battlefield, but also on the diplomatic front,” the expert concluded.
