Russia increases transportation from Iran via Caspian Sea, says expert
Maritime expert Andriy Klymenko has announced an increase in transportation from Iran to Russia via the Caspian Sea.
Klymenko wrote about this on Facebook.
He noted that there is currently an obvious increase in maritime traffic between Russia and Iran.
"Russia has transferred almost all of its old 'river-sea' vessels, which were built 40 or more years ago and can no longer navigate in the Black Sea (all the 'volgobalts', 'omskie', 'sormovskie', 'baltics' – hundreds of vessels were built during the Soviet era) to the Caspian Sea, so there is something to transport," wrote Klymenko.
In May, CNN reported that Iran is increasingly supplying Russia with ammunition via the Caspian Sea, and the West cannot prevent it.
On June 5, a contract for the purchase of artillery and tank shells, as well as rockets of various sizes, from Iran by Russia was revealed in the media.
On June 9, it was announced at the White House that Iran plans to build a drone factory in Russia, with production potentially starting in 2024.
