Russia hits Sumy region with artillery fire damaging infrastructure, power lines

On December 24, invading Russian forces launched 87 strikes on the border territory of the Sumy region.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Zhyvytskyi reported this. 

Invading Russian forces used mortars and artillery to shell the Bilipillia, Seredyno-Buda, Novoslobidske, Vorozhba communities in the Sumy region.

“The Russian forces shelled the Bilopillia community with mortars, hitting 6 times. The Seredyno-Buda community: 2 enemy mines exploded on the border. The enemy also used small arms. The Russian troops opened fire from artillery on the Vorozhba community. There were 15 hits. Power lines and civil infrastructure facilities were damaged,” Zhyvytskyi said. 

The Russian forces hit the Novoslobidske community with artillery. 14 hits are known.  The civil infrastructure facility was significantly damaged.

A total of 87 Russian attacks on the territory of the Sumy region are known.
