Russia has launched over 300 Shaheds against Ukraine in a month: British intelligence assesses effectiveness of massive strikes
Russia has launched 300 Shahed attack drones against Ukraine in a month, seeking to deplete Ukraine's air defense and reduce its stockpile of expensive missiles
British intelligence reported the information.
However, according to the report, Russia has not achieved significant success, as Ukraine has neutralized at least 90% of the UAVs, using mostly old and cheaper air defense systems and electronic jamming.
"Russia has also likely been attempting to locate and strike Ukrainian forces well behind the front line. However, Russia remains very ineffective at hitting such dynamic targets at range because of its poor targeting processes," the UK Ministry of Defense noted.
In May, Russian troops would massively attack Ukraine with missiles and UAVs almost every day. Kyiv and the region suffered 17 attacks in a month. In total, according to the Air Force Command, Ukrainian air defense shot down 154 missiles and 403 drones.
On May 29, the intensity of missile attacks by Russian troops reached its peak, with a total of 37 cruise missiles and 11 Iskander missiles launched.

On April 20, the American Institute for the Study of War reported that Russia continues to use “kamikaze” drones and other low-precision systems to try to compensate for the lack of high-precision missiles and detect Ukraine's air defense.
