The publication, citing Ukrainian intelligence data, notes that in recent weeks, the Russian Federation has transferred a large number of personnel from Donbas and Crimea to the South. We are talking about nine Russian units numbering 500-800 people.
Currently, there are probably up to 10,000 Russian soldiers on the west bank of the Dnieper. Their goal is to surround Mykolaiv.
The mass media explain that in this way the Russian Federation wants to respond to the advance of Ukrainian troops in the South, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces have moved the front line from Mykolaiv by approximately 2 kilometers over the past month.
In addition, the offensive on Mykolaiv will help the Russian army to advance to Odessa, and will also make it impossible to attack bridges near Kherson from HIMARS systems.
