St. Petersburg Forum showcases Chinese robot as Russian-made technology
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a Chinese humanoid robot was presented as a Russian development
The Russian Telegram channel Ne TV, as well as several other Russian media outlets, reported this information.
At the forum, robots named Volodya and Robert were introduced. Official Russian propaganda media described Robert as a robot from the company Red Soft, allegedly capable of patrolling, guarding, and carrying items. The robot also walked around during the presentation and shook hands with forum visitors, wearing a Dior bag over its shoulder.
However, as it turned out, the robot is actually the Chinese Unitree G1. The robot, developed by Unitree Robotics, was rented for 70,000 rubles per hour, and its price is about 2.7 million. It can carry loads up to 2 kg, works for up to two hours without recharging, and is equipped with 23 degrees of freedom, an AI system, and panoramic vision.
China has conducted its first successful clinical trial of an invasive brain implant that allows a person with paralysis to control electronic devices with the power of thought.
