Russia spreads false claim of Ukrainian strike on Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant
Russian propagandists have intensified a disinformation campaign targeting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, aimed at discrediting Ukraine. Specifically, pro-Kremlin outlets are spreading a false claim about an alleged "Ukrainian strike" on a facility within the plant

This was reported by Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation.
According to the Center, the propagandists claim that Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly hit the roof of the plant's training facility, which contains a reactor hall simulator.
The Center emphasized that, as with previous fake accusations of Ukrainian shelling at the plant, Russia has provided no evidence to support the claim.
"By spreading this kind of falsehood, Russia is attempting to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the international community and justify its illegal military presence at a nuclear facility," the Center stated.
- The Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) has had only one power line for more than a week, which means that nuclear safety at the plant remains extremely unstable.
