Reports of Russia's readiness to invade Sumy region from north aren't true

This is reported by Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation.

The Center emphasized that the information about the readiness of Russians to attack the Sumy region from the north, which is being spread by some experts, is not true.

"The Russian Federation currently has no resources for offensive actions in this area, and such information from experts who do not have access to any intelligence information fully coincides with the Russian narratives of "fear propaganda" that they spread in our information space amid intensified shelling of the Sumy region," the statement says.

Unverified information only helps Russians spread panic. The Center for Countering Disinformation calls to trust only official sources.

• On March 20, Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that due to constant Russian shelling, the authorities were considering the forced evacuation of families with children from the region's border communities.
• Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin, cited Russia's attempts to draw Ukraine's reserves away from the frontline as one of the reasons for the intensified shelling of the Sumy region.
• Since the beginning of March 2024, Russia has dropped 200 bombs on the territory of the Sumy region.
