Claims of offensive on Zaporizhzhia is part of disinformation campaign - оfficial
Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, has stated that rumors about a possible Russian offensive on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia have been circulating since March and are part of a disinformation campaign
He shared this during a briefing, as reported by Ukrinform.
"We’ve been hearing about an offensive on Zaporizhzhia since September. If I’m not mistaken, it was first said that an attack was coming. In October, there were also claims about an offensive, then in November, and now in December, they’re saying we’re packing up and leaving Zaporizhzhia. This is all part of the disinformation campaign that society reacts to,” Fedorov explained.
He added that this disinformation is why constructing an underground school in Komyshuvakha, just 20 kilometers from the front line, hasn’t started yet.
“This construction could be misinterpreted. If it goes viral on social media, it could make the school project look controversial,” Fedorov said.
The official also mentioned that this is the only school project with available funding, but construction has been deliberately delayed.
- On December 6, Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, killing 10 people and injuring 25, including two children.
