Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry and local media reported the information.
After the explosion in the morning, a fire broke out at the plant in Sterlitamak, with footage of it appearing on local social media.
According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, firefighters are extinguishing a flare fire caused by depressurization and subsequent combustion of liquefied gas. A total of 20 specialists and 6 vehicles are working at the scene.
Later, local authorities said it was an explosion at a product pipeline at the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant. According to their information, there are three victims of the incident. They are allegedly in intensive care in serious condition.
At the same time, the Russian Telegram channel Baza claims that the pipeline was being purged at the plant in the morning.
