Russia expects loss of 100,000 mobilized reservists by spring – media
Moscow is ready to lose more than 100,000 of soldiers killed or wounded this winter in the Ukraine war. They are going to be replaced by conscripts
This was reported by the Russian Meduza media outlet, referring to the sources in the FSB and the General Staff of the Russian Army.
The publication says that Russia is going “to stabilize the front” in Ukraine in the winter, "and then start all over again in the spring."
According to the sources, the political and military leadership of Russia understands that this plan involves great losses.
"In the spring of next year, Russia’s irreversible losses, that include the severely injured and the missing, could be as high as 100,000 people. But this does not scare anyone: they will be replaced by conscripts," said a source close to the FSB.
A source close to the General Staff also predicted that war losses in Ukraine will amount to about 100,000 thousand people, mostly mobilized troops. In the spring of 2023, he said, the Ministry of Defense plans to train 120,000 conscripts who can be sent to Ukraine to make up for losses among the mobilized.
"That's why he [Putin] is not canceling the decree on partial mobilization," the publication's source said.
