Russia escalates activity near Vovchansk and Kupiansk — Border Guard spokesman
Fighters with Ukraine's State Border Guard Service are reporting increased Russian military activity in the Kharkiv region
Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for Ukraine's Border Guard Service, told this to a Ukrinform correspondent.
"In the Kharkiv direction, we’re seeing more enemy activity, especially in those areas where units of the State Border Guard Service are deployed. These include the Vovchansk and Kupiansk directions. The Russians continue their assault attempts, trying to push our units — including border guards — out of their positions," Demchenko said.
He stressed that Russian forces have not achieved any major results.
Demchenko also said that in the Lyman and Kramatorsk directions, where border guard units are also holding ground, the situation remains difficult. Russia keeps attacking there with assault groups, backed by artillery, drones, and aircraft.
- Earlier, Andriy Pomahaybus, chief of staff of Ukraine's 13th operational brigade Khartiia, reported that Russian forces are building up near the state border with the Kharkiv region.
