Russia does not recognize borders, so it should be defeated now to guarantee security for Europe – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an address to the participants of the American Enterprise Institute World Forum. 

He noted that Russia does not recognize any borders, "and there is no such tyranny that does not claim to destroy freedom globally."

"Every Ukrainian life sacrificed for freedom is a life saved for our neighbors: Poles, Lithuanians, Moldovans and other free European nations. We must speak frankly about this. The Kremlin never wanted to stop after conquering only Ukraine. Never! Other European countries – your allies in Europe – nations in Asia – are just as much a target for Russia as Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.

That is why, he emphasized, it is necessary and wise to defeat Russia now to guarantee the security of Europe and to save any other nation that it might threaten.

"To defeat Russia on the battlefield in Ukraine means not to fight anywhere else in Europe and along Russia's borders. All the assistance that is being provided to Ukraine now is essentially an investment in global peace, in a real security architecture for freedom," Zelensky said.
