The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine commented on the current situation on the border of Ukraine and Belarus.
"Fortunately, the situation in this area is under full control. Russia currently does not have sufficient forces in Belarus to invade Ukraine. The number of Russian troops there is quite insignificant, unlike a few months ago. Previously, we recorded 10,000 to 12,000 Russian army servicemen in Belarus. But all of them, both then and now, are involved in preparing for drills at Belarusian training grounds," said the State Border Guard Service spokesman.
Andriy Demchenko emphasized that Belarus continues to support Russia in its war against Ukraine.
"We have to be prepared for any situation, so we systematically continue to strengthen our state border so that the Defense Forces can repel any attack. At the same time, we see that Belarus is trying to provoke Ukraine, but we do not fall for it, and we let them know that they support the aggressor and have stabbed Ukrainians in the back on February 24, 2022, by opening the border to the Russian army," Demchenko added.
Ukrainians "congratulated" the Belarusian accomplices of Russian invading forces on May 9 by placing billboards "We will defeat Ruscism" on the border and playing Ukraine’s national anthem.
On May 31, Belarusian border guards played an audio recording with an "invitation to borscht" to Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service officers.
Russians also blew up the road at the border near the Three Sisters monument to "prevent Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups from entering."
