Russia deploys missile carriers to basing points, but missile threat remains high - OC South

Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint coordination center of Ukraine’s South Defense Forces, shared the information on the United News national telethon.

"The missile carriers have been brought to their basing points. This is foreseen, because yesterday they fired almost all of their stockpile. So, obviously, they are re-equipping," Humeniuk said.

She reminded that at the beginning of the previous Russian attack, Russian forces had a stockpile of 24 Kalibr missiles, 20 of which were fired.

"The fact that they are in the basing points does not negate the threat level. It is quite high, because they can quickly restore their capacities and forces and return to combat duty within 2 to 3 hours," added the spokesperson.

• On the night of March 9, Russian troops massively attacked Ukraine with missiles. Russian “kamikaze” drones and aviation activity were spotted in the sky, explosions were heard in many regions, and critical infrastructure was hit. There were hits to the energy infrastructure, and power supply restrictions were imposed in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv and Odesa regions.

• During the massive attack on March 9, Russia launched 81 missiles of various types, and the Ukrainian defense shot down 34 cruise missiles and 8 guided aircraft, including 4 UAVs. 

• Two Russian missile carriers remained in the Black Sea after the massive night attack on Ukraine.  

• According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, the Russian army launched 6 Kinzhal hypersonic air defense missiles at once for the first time.
