Russia changes tactics in Avdiivka sector
The situation in the area of Avdiivka remains difficult. The Russian forces have chosen three priority areas where they are trying to concentrate their forces and exert the greatest pressure
This was reported by Vitaliy Barabash, Head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, on the air of the United News telethon.
"The Russian forces continue to shell the positions of the Defence Forces near Avdiivka and also strike at city facilities. In total, the community experienced 42 massive shelling and air strikes over the past day, resulting in two people being injured.
Barabash noted that Russian troops have changed their tactics and are now exerting pressure on certain areas of the frontline in order to eventually achieve the goal of capturing the city set by Moscow.
"The enemy is now trying to pierce the frontline. They have prioritised, relatively speaking, three areas, and they are sending equipment and much infantry there. It's really difficult. It's really very hot," the head of the administration said.
At the same time, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions despite the complexity of the situation. Therefore, Barabash urged not to spread panic, but instead to provide assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Of course, it is very difficult. But there is no need to dispel treacherous sentiments. The guys are holding on, we need to help them, and thank them for what they are doing," the head of the military administration stressed.
