Russia cannot form a strike force for an offensive from Belarus - military expert Stupak
Military expert Ivan Stupak believes that Russian troops in Belarus do not pose a great threat to the northern regions of Ukraine
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
“When Russian troops entered Belarus on February 24, they were trained and motivated military personnel. In total, Ukraine was attacked by a group of troops numbering more than 168,000. And this is only military personnel, without the Russian Guard and other units. This military personnel has been trained in military affairs for years. And with everything they didn't succeed,” Stupak explained.
A military expert believes that the Russian troops can attack Ukraine from the territory of Belarus only to distract Ukrainian forces.
“9,000 mobilized Russians will not be able to successfully advance from the territory of Belarus. They are currently undergoing training in Belarus. Even if there are 50,000 of them, provided that the Belarusians can find them parts where they can be placed, they will not be able to become a strike force for a repeated attack on the territory of Ukraine with the aim of capturing some city. The only thing they can do is to divert the attention of the Ukrainian forces to deter them. Nothing more,” he added.
